Frieze is widely recognised as one of the world’s most important art fairs. Taking place in London and New York, the events showcases a global selection of works from 160 of the world’s best galleries.
Frieze started out in 1991 as a publication run by Amanda Sharp, Matthew Slotover and Tom Gidley. In 2003 Sharp and Slotover took the art off the page and created the annual Frieze London art fair. The London 2016 edition was extra special as revellers were introduced to the Frieze Academy; a programme of thought provoking talks that explore topics of cultural identity, politics and music.
As the Frieze team ship out and prepare for their New York event in May 2017 we pick out ten of our favourite pieces from London 2016.
